SPAAR Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors

Consider being on the Board of Directors for the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®. The 2017 Nominating Committee is looking to fill three director positions. This position has a three-year term and directors are asked to make attending all Board meetings a priority. SPAAR is also accepting applications for three officer positions: Treasurer, President-elect, and President.
How will I benefit? As a Board Member you’ll have:

• Opportunities to both learn from and teach others
  
• Direct involvement in decisions that affect the association
  
• A broader professional network of members, the community and civic leaders
  
• New experiences that develop professional and personal skills

June is License Renewal Month: Review Your CE Transcript

All licenses are on a two-year renewal cycle. All agents are required to complete at least 15 hours of approved Continuing Education every year, for a total of 30 in each renewal cycle. The 2016 - 2017 module requirement is "Residential Contracts.”

The deadline for continuing education credits is June 30, 2017 (Agents should check with their broker as their deadline could be earlier). Make sure you have met all your requirements by visiting www.pulseportal.com and following the INSTRUCTIONS TO VIEW YOUR CE TRANSCRIPT. Note: In order to receive an email notification in the case of license suspension, please make sure that your email address is current with the MN Department of Commerce.

Forgo your weekly sales meeting on Tuesday, May 23rd and join SPAAR for the Biggest Tuesday Sales Meeting Ever! This year's event, hosted by SPAAR's Metro YPN committee, will be held at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley. Schedule is as follows:

• 8am-9am: FREE Breakfast, networking, vendor fair
• 9am-10am: 1 hour of FREE CE
• 10:15am-12pm: Keynote, O'Neal Hampton, Season 9 contestant on "The Biggest Loser"
• 12pm-1pm: VIP lunch

Help the USPS Stamp Out Hunger

Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers, who participate in the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation.

Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters. To donate, just place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on the second Saturday in May. The carrier will do the rest. The food is sorted, and delivered to an area food bank or pantry, where it is available for needy families.

Minnesota RPAC is seeking applications for new RPAC Trustees

Minnesota RPAC is calling for nominations for ten new Board of Trustee Members. Nominations are open from May 1-May 22 for the following trustee positions:

1. Six Regional Members, one from each of the six geographic regions, established by the Minnesota REALTORS®
   
2. Two Standing At Large Seats
   
3. One Local Association Executive (1-year term)
   
4. One YPN Liaison for Participation and Major Investors (1-year term)

Responsibilities and Obligations of Trustees: The Board of Trustees shall have general supervision and control over the affairs and funds of the committee and shall establish and carry out all policies and activities of the committee. Trustees are charged with the annual fundraising activity; review and analysis of relevant issues; and determining those candidates who shall receive support based on their position (i.e. voting record if incumbent) on real estate issues, elect-ability, and general support and commitment to the betterment of the real estate profession. Trustees are required to assist with and promote committee fundraising efforts and are expected to achieve a Trustee fundraising goal to be determined annually.
