Venture Class 5 Winners Revealed
Congratulations to the 2017 Launch Competition winners and Venture Class 4 graduates!

During our main event last Tuesday, four start-ups each received a $25,000 cash grant award. The winning companies are:  Hubspring Health, Ridgeback Network Defense Inc., Tap2Open LLC and Videopura LLC. About 16 more companies are expected to join the winners in the next venture class, making it the largest to date.  More than 200 people attended the graduation and announcement of the Venture Class 5 companies.

During the event,  Rhys L. Williams, managing director of FAU Tech Runway, led a discussion with  David Koretz, a serial entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Plum. They focused on South Florida's entrepreneurial eco-system. Koretz believes the region is on the precipice of growing exponentially, like other innovation hubs.To spur that growth, Koretz said he's focusing on expanding and attracting venture capital to the region. Organizations like FAU Tech Runway will play an important role as well, he said.

The day also included graduating and incoming companies giving their live pitches and an awards ceremony.  To learn more about Venture Class 5, click  here.
