From the Principal
Have you spent time in our classrooms during the months of May, June, August or September? If so you would not be able to help but notice that they are HOT! Evergreen's balanced calendar honors the learner with breaks throughout the school year however, that means we start earlier in August and end later in June. Our classrooms are comprised of 30-40 little bodies that move, wiggle and sweat. If you've attended an Orchestra concert, Classroom Connect or another classroom event in the spring, summer or even early fall, you know that our classrooms get very warm, making it challenging for students to concentrate on teaching and learning. Evergreen staff, parents, grandparents and friends have identified a need for classroom air conditioning units and we now have a fundraising campaign that includes a matching gift opportunity to help us reach our goal.
We recently celebrated our Evergreen community together at Wildwood Family Farms where we kicked off a fundraising initiative to help cover a portion of the GRCS 20/20-Preserving a Vital Purpose investment into the Evergreen campus. We have a fundraising goal of $100,000 in order to fund a portion of the needed facility upgrades such as classroom air conditioning units and necessary updates to become A.D.A. compliant.
For the next 30 days, we have the opportunity to receive matching gifts up to $50,000 for all donations designated for Evergreen
. We have currently raised just over $10,000 so we have a bit to go. Please consider participating in this important effort. We are so grateful for this matching gift opportunity. We want to take full advantage of the generosity of this pledge in order to begin the needed updates for our campus. Every donation gets us closer to our goal.
You can donate to GRCS 20/20-Preserving a Vital Purpose through the Advancement Office or online at
GRCS 20/20 Giving. (Be sure to indicate GRCES Evergreen Capital Investments in the designation menu in order to take advantage of our matching gift opportunity). To make a donation through the Advancement Office, contact Mark Stuit at (616) 574-6018 or
MStuit@grcs.org.
Thank you for considering investing in Evergreen through the GRCS 20/20 campaign.
Grace and Peace,
Becky Breuker
