OSF Saint Anthony Hosts Jefferson High School Students in Real World Robotics Application
On May 9th OSF Saint Anthony hosted twenty students from either the Health Sciences (HS), Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Trades & Technology (EMITT) career academies at Jefferson High School, to engage in a hands-on demonstration of the da Vinci surgical robot. Paula Carinsky, CEO, OSF Saint Anthony's Medical Center welcomed the students; Dr. Lawrence Prabhakar, daVinci Colorectal Surgeon and Director of the Saint Anthony's Robotics Program, and Dr. David Cable,
daVinci Cardiothoracic Surgeon, provided a program overview and Q&A session with the students. T
he hospital hopes to offer similar experiences in the coming school year to students interested in health sciences or engineering career pathways.

RPS Cardboard Canoe Race
With only a limited supply of duct tape and cardboard, students within the Engineering Design classes at Auburn, East, and Guilford High Schools designed, marketed, built, and raced canoes for respective awards at the second annual Cardboard Canoe Race at Levings Lake May 12th!
RPS 205 and community members came out to judge and assist in the races! Aside from the fun, students learned valuable lessons in engineering design, marketing, soft skills, and teamwork!
