Honoring Mom: Field Bouquets
This month we're honoring moms by featuring some very special bouquets... bouquets we think give new meaning to our flowers. These gorgeously colorful bouquets are created everyday right in the fields. Often hidden creations that tell a story of life in the fields and the seasonality of each harvest.
These amazing 'Field Bouquets' as we call them are not often seen, they're crafted quickly and... it's on to the next one. Usually, there's little time to appreciate their beauty. And so, as a tribute to moms we're sharing of some of our favorite field creations. We love the idea of sending a special message about life in the fields through our blooms.

American Grown Flowers Garnish
First Lady's Luncheon
This year's First Lady's Luncheon was the latest inspiration for designing with all American Grown Flowers. Farms from across the country shipped over 18,000 stems of gorgeous American Grown Flowers to a team of over 20 volunteer floral designers led by Kelly Shore of
Petals by the Shore, Christy Hulsey of
The Colonial House of Flowers and Margaret Lloyd of
Margret Joan Florals.

The banksia is a bold and textural bloom that's displayed in many of our favorite designs. For any season, there's always a way to make them work no matter what the occasion is. I think the uniqueness of a banksia is what makes it loved by so many of us. When it comes to designing with banksia, the options are seemingly endless. Such an exceptional flower can be transformed by the designer, projecting a different look depending on what else it is paired with it.

Field to Vase: American AgCredit Customer Appreciation Dinner
The Temecula Valley is Southern California's Wine Country. Over 30 wineries populate the region's rolling hills and sprawling valleys producing a variety of wines. And, it's no surprise that this region has become a popular event destination. This month, American AgCredit held its annual Customer Appreciation Dinner at Avensole Winery and we were asked to provide the flowers.

Flower Fashion: How Beautiful Blooms Inspire Couture
If you were to sneak a peek inside my closest you would find quite a few pieces of clothing with floral prints or embroidered flowers. Whenever I go clothes shopping I seem to always gravitate to all things pretty and floral. This season I am seeing the fashion world again be inspired by mother nature's beauty with lots of floral bomber jackets popping up as the seasons hottest look. By the time winter comes I would have no doubt added another floral item to my collection with one of these.

hope you had a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
May was an extremely busy and rewarding month for all of us here at Resendiz Brothers. This Mother's Day we harvested the most beautiful flowers and foliage I've seen during May in years. We owe a big 'Thank You' to Mother Nature who brought us lots of wonderful rain and kept temperatures cool and breezy. The waxflower, pincushions, leucadendron, grevilleas and yes, the Kings were gorgeous. I'm confident that the freshest, top quality flowers made it into the hands of lots of well deserving moms! I hope that this important holiday was successful for you and your customers as well. My entire team and I thank you for your continued support!
Now, it's time for us to get back out in the nursery and fields. There's seedlings sprouting, cuttings rooting, plants to prune, fields to clear and planting to be done. My hope is that these efforts soon will result in more fields overflowing with a bounty of beautiful protea, accent flowers and lush foliage.

n May 23rd, SCR No. 58 was introduced by Senator McGuire. The resolution was designed to recognize and honor California's flower farming families for their dedication and productivity. The resolution also recognized the flower industry's impact on the state's economy: creating jobs, generating billions of dollar in business activity and additional taxes. With June only a day away, let's celebrate and recognize California Grown Flowers Month together! And, just a reminder...
American Flowers Week is set for June 28 - July 4th. It's a week-long celebration of domestic flowers designed to raise consumer awareness and unite America's flower farmers with the U.S. floral industry.
