JANUARY VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Beth L.

Beth and
Jewls

Where are you from?
I have lived North, South, East and West in the U.S., but I tell everyone that I'm from New Orleans.  I was transferred from Charlotte, N.C. to Colorado in 2003 and I have enjoyed living here ever since!

*What volunteer positions do you help with at TCRAS?
I signed up to drive the van to adoption fairs. I so enjoy working with Sue B. and taking our clients to Petco/Petsmart and all the other events during the year.  I also enjoy helping with our fundraising events. Wild Whiskers is my favorite and the Yappy Hour comes in second.

*What do/did you do for a job/career?
I worked 10 years as an EMT/Paramedic in New Orleans. After graduating from the University of new Orleans in 1996, I entered the Banking/Mortgage industry.  In 2014, I moved to Florissant and retired.  I still work part-time with Advance Auto in Woodland Park (I just can't stop working :-)

*Do you have a family?  Tell us about them.
I have 3 children and 9 grand children. They all live out of state.

*What pets do you have?
Jewls is a Beagle / Jack Russell whome I adopted from TCRAS in 2014.  She will be 6 yrs old in June.  We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary together on Christmas Eve. I was only fostering Jewls for the Holidays, but as it happened, I never took her back to TCRAS! I will forever thank Angie for introducing Jewls to me. Jewls is the love of my life :-)

*What do you like to do for fun?
Walking with Jewls in our neighborhood. Also, I have played golf since I was 9 years old, and look forward to Spring to start playing again.  I enjoy reading "who dunnit" novels as well as Political History books. I am a member of Woodland Park Community Church and enjoy volunteering with Storehouse Ministries.

THANK YOU Beth for being such a dedicated Adoption Fair and Event volunteer.  We can always count on you to donate your time to help find our guests their forever people. If you have attended Wild Whiskers or Yappy Hour, Beth has had a huge roll in the planning and executing of those major events.  We appreciate you!!!

Volunteer of the Month Pet Pick

Presley is still waiting patiently for his forever people. He came to us as a stray, and his people never came to claim him :-( He loves to play with his new canine friends at TCRAS, but what he'd really love is a home of his own. Help spread the word to find this sweet boy a forever home!!
