Indian Culture Gives Divine Status to Alphabet
 

Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said that Indian culture granted divine status to the alphabet in Vedic texts as an indication of the high importance Indians place on books and literature. Opening a book means opening a new world, he said, while inaugurating the 29th Vijayawada Book Festival in Andhra Pradesh.
