recently held an open house to showcase their newly-constructed egg laying barn with enriched housing.
Three specific features have been added to encourage the birds natural behaviours: perch rods, nesting areas and a scratching pad.
"The entire undertaking has taken 10 months," says Hubert Schillings. "This has included building the structure, installing the housing, installing the egg collection system, feed scales, plumbing, and ventilation system."

After 25 years of leading the non-profit, Debbie has stepped down from her role as Executive Director of FoodShare--and was recently presented with the
Frances Lankin Award

an award given out annually to someone who has made a significant, sustained contribution to Toronto's non-profit community sector.
