Grant Opportunity: Youth Development Services (Grades K-12) The Children’s Trust has released a competitive solicitation for a new five-year funding cycle for youth development services. Funding is available for: Kindergarten through fifth grade – after-school and summer camp programs (YAS) Sixth through 12th grade – youth enrichment and supports for after-school and summer camp services (YEN) Videos of the content covered in the recently held youth development application training sessions are now available! Attention Quality Counts Programs: We Need to Hear from You! As part of the ongoing implementation evaluation of Quality Counts, you should have received an online survey via email directly from the external evaluators at the University of Miami in December. If you have not yet completed the survey or received the email, please click here to complete the survey . The survey asks about your use of and engagement with the various Quality Counts supports, your opinion of their value and your perception of their effectiveness. Collected information will be used to inform continuous improvement of Quality Counts. We ask that you respond to the survey quickly and answer all questions completely and candidly. All your responses will remain confidential and only a summary of the results will be included in a report. The deadline for the survey has been extended until January 12, 2018 . Once you complete the survey, you will receive a $10 gift card to show our appreciation for participating. Questions? First Aid Training: Youth Mental Health Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (YMHFA) is an 8-hour course that teaches any adult how to help an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to the signs and symptoms of addiction and mental illness. After-School Counselors * YMCA of South Florida seeks energetic, outgoing individuals to be responsible for the daily supervision of a group of up to 15 children, including the planning and implementation of activities. Counselors must enjoy working with children ages 5-12, be able to work effectively in multiple settings, communicate with parents/guardians in a professional and courteous manner, and maintain daily attendance records. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent; ability to communicate effectively, motivate students and lead a group; ability to respond to safety and emergency situations; and ability to assist children with homework in the English language. Available Positions at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment * Nurse Case Manager To provide expertise as an educator, consultant and facilitator; and quality patient care via the development, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care plans and patient education sessions. Current state of Florida RN license including certification in BLS and ACLS required. Will also require some evening and Saturday hours, and two years' relevant experience. Youth Care Worker To provide day-to-day supervision of youth in a residential group home and ensure their safety and well-being. Available Positions at the Institute For Child and Family Health Community Action Team (CAT) Mentor To assist clients with educational, vocational and life skills development while helping them enhance their support network. Must possess minimum high school diploma and one year experience working with children and adolescents in a group, classroom, tutoring or related setting. Knowledge in the areas of child development, family functioning, resistant clients, and child abuse and neglect, as well as a proven skill set in collaborating with other disciplines and services, also required. Community Action Team (CAT) Therapist To be responsible for implementing therapeutic intervention for children/adolescents/young adults that meet program enrollment criteria. Responsibilities include completing documentation within given deadlines and in accordance with funders, COA standards, and agency policies and procedures, as well as in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Program Supervisor To be responsible for providing clinical supervision and documentation review, to ensure that provided services are family-centered, focused on increasing youth’s ability to successfully cope with life challenges, and build resiliency using fidelity to the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. Home Visitor To provide services to families with children ages birth-5 years residing at several homeless assistance centers. Services include weekly home visits, providing education to parents on child development and child health, child development screenings, participating in parent group meetings and offering referrals to other services as needed. Other responsibilities include teaching participant families the skills and techniques needed to create a stimulating educational setting within the home environment, as well as promoting school readiness. Mental Health Targeted Case Manager To provide community-based case management services to assigned clients, including but not limited to, assessing client needs for services, advocating and linking to services, and monitoring of services. All case management services must be provided in accordance with the Medicaid Mental Health Targeted Case Management Handbook, ICFH policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) Supervisor To be responsible for providing clinical supervision and documentation review to ensure that services provided by the SNAP therapists and case managers are delivered in a timely manner, are of high quality, and are consistent with eligibility criteria using fidelity to the Stop Now And Plan (SNAP) model. Nutrition Coordinator To ensure its sites are in proper compliance with regulatory statutes for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Childcare Food Program (CCFP) and Head Start Nutrition Services, as well as administer CCFP for the agency. Works closely with nutrition consultant to ensure that children identified with health-related nutrition problems receive appropriate therapeutic meals.
