Happy New Year, SACSA!

I hope that you had a restful and refreshing holiday break and are renewed as you begin the spring 2018 semester. Your SACSA Leadership Team is hard at work on our goals and priorities for 2018. We will spend February 7-9 in Myrtle Beach, SC for our annual mid-year meeting where we will have the opportunity to view the conference hotel and continue our discussion on how to best move SACSA forward. In the February SACSAlert, we will reveal some new and exciting marketing and communication tools for SACSA. So, be on the lookout for that announcement!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. states that "everybody can be great because everybody can serve... you only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." The work of our beloved Association could not be done without the dedication of our wonderful volunteers who serve tirelessly. Thank you all for your grace, love, service, and commitment to the Southern Association for College Student Affairs!

Yours in Service,

Tanisha

P.S. Do not forget to Save the Date and make preparations to Meet Us at the BEACH on November 3 - 5, 2018 in Myrtle Beach, SC where we will be Building ways to Educate, Advocate, Cultivate, and Heighten our purpose in Student Affairs.

Call for Faculty

What is the New Professionals Institute?
New Professionals Institute is the preeminent professional development opportunity for new student affairs professionals in the south. Anyone with five years or fewer of full-time experience in Student Affairs is eligible to apply. Co-sponsored by NASPA Region III and SACSA, NPI is an intensive, interactive week of learning, sharing, networking and professional and personal development. This unique opportunity allows new professionals to draw on their first years of experience to improve their effectiveness and to learn from others. It is a time of professional and personal renewal and assists new professionals in the development of their careers.

NPI will take place at UNC Charlotte from June 2-7, 2018.

Role of Faculty
The 2018 New Professionals Institute is currently seeking senior student affairs professionals from NASPA Region III and SACSA to serve as the faculty mentors for institute participants. Each faculty member will lead a cluster of 10-12 participants through the institute and serve as their mentor, facilitate small group discussions, and lead a presentation on a specific topic during the institute.

The Institute will cover transportation and travel expenses and all faculty will stay on the UNC Charlotte University campus. Faculty must be able to commit to the entirety of the institute.

How to Apply
