CHAIRMAN OF THE AICPA BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO INTERVIEW WALMART SENIOR EXECUTIVE AT THE 2017 NABA
NATIONAL CONVENTION & EXPO'S OPENING SESSION

Greenbelt, MD, May 10 , 2017  -   The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA, Inc.) welcomes Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, CPA, CGMA as a featured speaker during the Opening Session on June 7th at our National Convention & Expo taking place June 6-10 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverwalk in New Orleans, LA.  The session will be a 1-on-1 one interview with Walmart Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Brett Biggs.

Kimberly was installed as the AICPA's first black Chairman in its 128-year history last October.  She is also the youngest, the fifth female, and only one of a few chairs from business & industry.  She is the Global Accounting Strategy Director, Oracle America and is a Lifetime member of NABA.  Kimberly that NABA and AICPA are stronger together.

Kimberly was born in Baltimore, MD, and grew up in inner city Baltimore.  She knew she wanted to be an accountant from a very early age but her path was anything but traditional.  Her first stop was Carver Vocational Technical High School where she graduated as valedictorian.  Next, she earned a bachelor's degree in information systems management and technical writing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  She didn't stop there. Kimberly went on to earn an MBA from Loyola University Maryland, a master's degree in information technology from Carnegie Mellon University, and an accounting certificate from the Community College of Baltimore County.

Kimberly also has a long history of volunteer service - in the community and across the profession. She is a former Chair of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) Board of Directors. She is committed to facilitating increased interaction between AICPA and NABA and a continuing - if not increasing - focus on talent development and inclusion at AICPA and throughout the accounting profession.
