Tips with Donna
"Director Please!" The social phobia of calling the director starts at a young "bridge age". People think that calling the director draws attention to the table, the player calling, or the player who may have done something that needs to be "fixed." Or perhaps, people think that the director has something better to do than to be bothered by our issue.
Nothing is further from the truth.
The director is your friend and is there to answer your questions about duplicate laws and
etiquette, as well as, ensure that everyone has a great time playing this amazing game! BAND's directors are trained to work with new players
and implement a relaxed set of duplicate laws in the 49er Pairs. BAND Directors understand that the goal of the Play-N-Learn and the 49er Pairs is for everyone to have fun in a non-threatening atmosphere.
To this end, anytime there is an occurrence out of the ordinary ~ Bid, lead or play out of turn, failure to follow suit or any other
irregularities at your table, please raise your hand and say, "Director Please!"
I wouldn't be surprise if the director leaves the table with everyone laughing ... or at least smiling!
