summer
was the hottest ever since

began in 1880! Malibu's bragging rights for not needing air conditioning in summer months is a thing of the past. Scientist now believe that this hot weather that we experienced, will be the new "norm".which
means that we are going to have to change all our old skin care habits and become more vigilant
about protecting
our exposed skin.
I can't bare to hear one more person tell me that their make-up or moisturizer has a SPF in it. Sunblock in a moisturizer is bad on many levels but particularly for nourishing and protecting the skin. I recommend a sunblock with a SPF between 20-50. over a high quality, natural moisturizer. The moisturizer should always be the first thing on your skin to help with elasticity, hydration and moisture. Remember...what goes on your skin first, goes into your blood system first.
Hats and large brim visors are no longer an optional accessory when being outside, but a must! Additionally, there are many sites dedicated to offering clothing with built-in SPF sun protection now.
Along with SPF's and protective clothing, sun shades for the car windows is an important addition for protecting the face from hyper-pigmentation and aging. Car window shades can be found in auto supply stores or car washes. (look for the ones that have an SPF in them)
Sometimes, unexpected sun exposure happens. There are of course professional remedies, but there are also some quick fixes that you can do at home to improve the skin's texture, and to fade brown-spots that you might have started to notice. I have highlighted some of those fixes below. The important advice to remember is to try to avoid the sun without ample protection and when you start to see spots and skin damage, take care of it immediately, because good skin care Is as accumulative as bad or no skin care!
