As a cooperative, FCI is constantly striving to meet the needs of its membership. Beginning in June, FCI will offer a rural appraisal service as a resource available to all member-families.

It's time again for the Focus on Farming calendar contest - beginning today and ending Aug. 24, 2017. 

FCI is looking for photo entries from all four seasons of the year showing agriculture and rural life at its best. A maximum of five entries per photographer.   Your photo could be selected to appear in FCI's 2018 Focus on Farming calendar.

New Director Appointed Following AgriBank Election


Long-time FCI board member Dale Crawford was recently elected to serve on the AgriBank Board of Directors. To fill his vacant seat until the cooperative's next annual meeting election, David Haase of Iroquois County was appointed. Ever considered serving on Farm Credit's Nominating Committee or Board of Directors? If so, fill out a candidate interest form to submit your name and information by July 15.

Ag Economy Barometer
Producer Sentiment Inches Higher in April to 130




The Ag Economy Barometer measures the health of the U.S. agriculture economy with an index value based on a survey of agricultural producers on economic sentiment. A score of 100 means producer sentiment is unchanged from the six-month baseline research period; a score higher than 100 means sentiment improved from the base period; a score lower than 100 means sentiment declined versus the base period.

In a world plagued by email hackers, FCI strives to protect members' confidential information. Instead of sending unsecured information via email, FCI uses a cloud service called ShareFile to send and receive files. To create an account, simply visit with your local Farm Credit office and follow a few steps on your desktop computer.

Meet Dave Ragan, Senior Certified Appraiser




Meet Dave Ragan, the Senior Appraiser based in the Effingham regional office. Dave was raised on a farm in Effingham County and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in agriculture economics. Dave joined the FCI appraisal team in 2012 after operating his own appraisal service for 20 years.
