HONORS SERVICE: The 2017 Honors Service took place on Sunday, May 21, in Gibson Memorial Chapel. Senior Albert Che presented the 2017 Faculty Award to Mr. Paul Fehlner. FAREWELL MS. HART: Headmaster Trip Darrin and Senior Class President (2017-2018) Jaab Veskijkul presented Ms. Jill Hart with a bouquet to honor her 17 years at BRS. Ms. Hart is retiring at the end of this month.

STATE TRACK MEET: The Barons finished in 10th place
for teams in Division 1 of the VISAA State
Championship Track Meet on Saturday, May 20, at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond. Franck Germain '18 finished 7th in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.76. Elijah Gordon '19 finished 2nd in the 100 with a time of 10.86. He had the top time in the preliminaries at 10.79. Darius McGhee '18 finished 2nd in the high jump with a leap of 6' 6". This was our highest team finish since 2012 when we finished in 9th place.
COMMENCEMENT 2017:
The Baccalaureate Ceremony will take place this afternoon in Gibson Memorial Chapel at 4:30PM. A special dinner for parents and their grads will take place on the lawn at 6:00PM. On Saturday at 9:30AM, members of the Class of 2017 will process down the aisle for their Commencement Ceremony. Lunch will be served following the ceremony.
Please note, seniors must remain on campus on Friday night. Special activities have been planned as well as a nice meal later that night. A continental breakfast will be available Saturday morning in the dining hall.
In the event of rain on Saturday, the ceremony will be held in Gibson Memorial Chapel and seniors will be limited to four guests. All other guests can view the ceremony in the auditorium via our live-stream.
The Parent Association is still in need of person to fill the position of Baron Spirit Chairperson. This is a fun job that doesn't require a lot of time or close proximity to the school. Please contact Robin Cline at 859-265-0515 or [email protected] for more details if you can help.
