Plummer Park

Take part in this multimedia exhibit that invokes the spirit of lesbian and queer activism and organizing in '90s Los Angeles and West Hollywood.  From protest and street activism to grassroots community groups, '90s activism in LA reflected the energy of the decade: massive dyke visibility marches, public kiss-ins and declarations of "we recruit!".  Showcasing a diverse collection of visuals and materials, LESBIANS TO WATCH OUT FOR features the The Lesbian Avengers: 25th Anniversary Exhibition , and tells the stories of LA queer women in groups ranging from ACT UP LA, Queer Nation LA and the LA Dyke March to untold histories of local lesbian groups including United Lesbians of African Heritage (ULOAH), Los Angeles Asian  Pacific Islander Sisters (LAAPIS), Lesbianas Unidas (LU) and other organizations, that created community and inspired a new generation of lesbian activists to 'reclaim the universe.'

This exhibit is presented as part of the City of West Hollywood's One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival, which takes place from Harvey Milk Day (May 22) through the end of June Pride month.
