Hey ANTrepreneurs!

We have tons of updates to share with you! Our final two events of the year, Girlboss and ANTrepreneur of the Year Awards, just wrapped up. In this newsletter, we recap both events and feature a coffee startup that gives and saves you energy.

Even though the school year is coming to a close, more entrepreneurial events are on their way. Entrepreneurs are interested in your applications for their job opportunities and internships. Meanwhile, we’re making some pretty big changes at the office. Find out more below!

Sincerely,
UCI ANTrepreneur Center
What to Catch Up On
We were overjoyed to hold our third Girlboss event of the year! The CEO of the Team Kids, our keynote speaker Julie Hudash, shared her experience as a female entrepreneur, expanding her non profit over 40 cities. Plenty of other female ANTrepreneurs were able to share their businesses with the OC community, too.  Read more here!

Last week, we celebrated our ANTrepreneurs at our ANTrepreneur of the Year Awards! Every year, fellow students and local entrepreneurs at UCI come together to nominate their favorite ANTrepreneurs. This year, we had 27 awards to give away. Check out the winners here!

Energy Made More Efficient with Coffee Buddy

Whether you’re a college student or the top executive of a business, you probably run on coffee to get through the day. But to provide you with energy, coffee making machines must waste energy, running when no one is there to keep the coffee warm. And turning off the machine would mean waiting to get that drink ready and wasting time.

A team of five ANTrepreneurs, however, are devising a solution. Their product, Coffee Buddy, aims to save energy for coffee makers by regulating machine temperature through intelligent systems. From researching energy use to creating a marketable product, these students began with literally no experience in business, proving that anyone really can be an ANTrepreneur. Read their story here.

The Month Ahead

We’re Moving!

Starting this summer, we’re changing our location from the Student Center to the Phineas Banning Alumni House. This building sits right next to Summer Session, inside of UCI Extension. We’ll miss our old space in the Student Center, but are looking forward to a larger space with new opportunities. In the meantime, follow our social media to stay updated on the move!
