Special Recognition
In honour of Canada's 150 th Anniversary of Confederation, and in partnership with Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden's 50 th Anniversary, the inaugural Special Recognition will be presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the role of traditional Japanese sport in Lethbridge, or those of Japanese descent who have significant accomplishments in sport.

Lethbridge 2017: Get Active Through Sport

SportFest Registration 
SportFest 2017 will be held Saturday August 19th at the Servus Sports Centre. Vendor/exhibitor registration is now open. A number of organizations took advantage of the early bird pricing and spaces are filling quickly, so register today to avoid disappointment! Welcome to the Lethbridge Bulls who will be there with their inflatable batting cage!

Southern Alberta Summer Games
The SASG will be hosted in the City of Brooks and County of Newell  from July 5 th  to 8 th . Registration for the Games will open  May 8th , the deadline for registration is  June 2nd .  All of the necessary forms and additional up to date information for events can be found online at the SASG website
Grant Deadline Extended
Due to recent changes in Alberta Sport Connection's Grant Management Portal, we've extended the Spring Coach & Official Grants Initiative deadline to June 15th, 2017. 
  • Grant available to support individuals pursuing educational or developmental opportunities (Above & Beyond).
  • Grant to support PSO coach and official education (PSO Coach & Official Education).
  • Grant to support PSOs to complete evaluations and certification of their coaches and officials (Coach Evaluations Grant).

Trampoline & Tumbling
After the preliminary competition all X-Finity team members made the finals and 7 of the 8 athletes placed in the top 10 in their age category on their event. For the first time since the conception of this team, X-Finity received a Bronze in the Team Finals Event for tumbling.   Kariya Lepko won gold and is Provincial Champion in the 14 and over Level 3 Tumbling category.  Congratulations gymnasts!

Inclusive Physical Literacy

The 9th annual Lethbridge Food Bank and Canadian Tire CARE FOR KIDS Golf Tournament will be on Thursday August 3, 2017.

Nature Play Day 
The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is holding its 5th Annual Nature Play Day on Saturday, June 10 th  from  12:00 pm to 4:00 pm  at Henderson Lake Park. This outdoor festival aims to encourage families to get outside and play by featuring a variety of engaging activities
