New Accessible Icon

On June 6, ASPIRO made a public, visual statement about how we view people with disabilities. We changed our parking lot signage to reflect a more active icon. It shows a person in motion, leaning forward, navigating themselves. 

Our goal is to change how people understand disability. People with disabilities can and do make personal decisions, they voice their opinions, they choose where and what kind of work fulfills their lives  and so much more. 

 
Six Degrees of ASPIRO

While mostly behind the scenes, the work ASPIRO consumers  do impacts millions of people.  With this kind of reach, we are guessing that any o ne person is six degrees* away from interacting with ASPIRO.  They just don't know it!  Here are three examples, but there are many more!

This week, ASPIRO assembled thousands of post race food bags for the annual Bellin Run on June 10 (see right).

Since its inception until the end of this year, ASPIRO will have tagged 2 million Live Generously t-shirts that are shipped across nation.  Check out this video.

Our joint chair contract sends metal folding chairs to our  military bases across the world.

* Six degrees of separation  is the idea that all living things and everything else in the world are six or fewer steps away from each other so that a chain of "a friend of a friend " statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.
