Candidates set for May 6 City Council election 
Burleson voters will have their choice of 13 candidates in four races this spring. All Burleson City Council seats are elected at-large for three-year terms. Below are the names of the individuals who have filed (in alphabetical order)

Children's Area ribbon cutting at Library  
Improvements  in the Children's Area at the Burleson Public Library are completed and ready to welcome families.

Join the Library for a ribbon cutting to officially open up the newly improved area at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 28.

Part of the improvements include new shelves that are lower and allow for better visibility for parents and their little ones and a fantastic mural alongside the children's area wall. 
Aqua Egg Hunt tickets on sale now! 
Grab your swimsuits it's time to hunt for Easter eggs in the BRiCk's indoor pool.

The Aqua Egg Hunt fun begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. Children, up to age 11, will be divided into four age groups for hunts in the play structure area and the lap pool.

Free Car Seat checks at Fire Station 1 on March 4
A certified child passenger safety technician from Cook Children's will be at Station 1, 828 SW Alsbury Blvd. from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4 to perform free car seat checks. 

Call (682) 885-2634 to schedule your appointment. Those without appointments will be on a first come/first seen basis. Your child must be present unless you are an expectant parent.

Proposed Code of Ordinances Updates
The City is in the process of updating portions of the Burleson Code of Ordinances. These portions include Chapter 34: Environment, Chapter 36: Fencing and Chapter 78: Traffic and Vehicles. The proposed changes will assist code compliance staff in ensuring the protection of property values and improving the health, safety, and welfare of citizens of Burleson. 


There has been no action taken by City Council on the proposed changes. The City is currently taking feedback from citizens. Email your feedback or questions to code compliance staff. 
Pet of the Week - Meet Pepper
Pepper loves playing with toys and getting lots of pets. He would love to play fetch in the backyard and go on walks with you.
