Roadway Impact Fees
During the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on Feb. 20 the council will consider a Roadway Impact Fee.
There have been questions about what the fee is and how it works. Information is provided below:
A Roadway Impact Fee is a one-time only fee charged to new development, typically paid at the time of building permit, for the increased traffic demand of the new development on City streets.
Current residents will not be affected.
The fee (if approved) will be used to widen and expand roadways as traffic increases due to the new development. This fee is a way to make new development pays for the infrastructure required to support itself, so that current residents do not carry that burden through increased taxes or other methods.
