Protect Against Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease is spread by black legged deer ticks and it can be very dangerous to both humans and pets. Click here for information posted on the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation website.
There is a much larger population of ticks already in evidence this year including in some local parks. Ticks have been reported at Lake Wabukayne already.
Please make sure that you protect your family and pets by taking the proper precaution.
Be cautious in wooded and grassy areas and check yourselves and your pets for ticks.
Please report all ticks to Peel Health as they will note locations and will drag the area and test for type. Click here to get more information on Peel Health's role and here for information from Animal Services.

Tell us what Community Services you want
Council and staff have embarked on the planning for the next
five to 10 years for the our Culture, Recreation, Parks & Forestry, Library and Fire & Emergency Services.
If you have an idea about a library program, a City-owned recreation facility or something you'd like to see at a local park, please share it with us. As Mississauga continues to grow, so does the number of residents using City-run programs, services and facilities. It's important to understand what the community sees as priorities so we can ensure we continue to meet their needs now and in the future.
- What services are most important to you?
- What are your expectations for these services?
- Which services are you happy with?
- What do you feel needs to change?
- What are some new things you'd like to see in the future?
