REMINDER | Hold Club Elections
|
|
|
If your club has not already elected club officers for the upcoming Toastmasters year, please do so ASAP!
Take the time to consider who will be a good fit for your club executive team for the 2017-2018 Toastmasters year that begins July 1.
Your club will be electing a President, VP Education, VP Membership, VP Public Relations, Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant At Arms.

Don't forget to update club officer information in Club Central. It is important for clubs to submit the names of their incoming (2017/2018) club officers to Club Central on the Toastmasters International website in order to receive DCP credit and retain access to information in Club Central beyond June 30.

sults via Club Central,
please email the names of the club officers for the 2017/2018 Toastmasters year to

The first round of club officer training has just begun...
There are many opportunities to attend leader training in the month of June through August. All members are welcome to attend any training session available in District 42. It is a good learning opportunity, and a great way to network with others.

* Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) events are being held in conjunction with COT sessions, they include leadership presentations.
2017/2018 club officers will receive Distinguished Club Program (DCP) credit. Please ensure that you physically sign in at the beginning of the COT session so that you can receive the credit.

District 42 creates promotions to recognize and encourage clubs to reach specific milestones and achieve Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals.

Beat The Clock
May 1 - June 30
A Toastmasters International Incentive.
Add 5 new, dual or reinstated members to your club by June 30 to receive a ribbon for your club banner
plus a 10-percent discount on your next club order from the Toastmasters International Online Store!

Sunshine Club Award
A Sunshine Ribbon is earned by any club that holds a minimum of two club meetings over the summer - one in July and one in August.
Please let us know if your club meets during the summer. We will post a list of Sunshine Clubs on the District 42 website at the end of the month.

|
Members Making a Difference
An individual award given to a member in a club who has made a difference in their club by promoting the club in the community, befriending guests to encourage them to become members, mentoring new members, planning an open house/demo meeting in the club, etc.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Maximum of 1 pin per club.
- Should be tied to Membership Building/Membership Retention.
- The submission to the District should be made by a member of the Club Executive.
- Complete and submit the Members Making a Difference Form.

Of The Year Awards | Deadline: June 15
|
|
|
The immediate past club president typically leads the nomination committee in each club to select a:
Club members can submit nomination forms to the Past President. Once a decision has been made, the current Club President submits winners to the Area Director by June 15.
The President of the Year Award. The outgoing District Director (Carolyn Kaldy) will contact incoming club presidents to complete the nomination form for eligible candidates (i.e., outgoing club presidents that fit the eligibility criteria as laid out in District 42 Procedures) after June 30.

Charter Party Celebration
|
|
Zedi Masters (Chartered: April 26, 2017) held their charter party on June 1.
What is unique about their meetings is that some of the club members participate via conference call and webcam! The membership is comprised of people from Calgary, Edmonton, Houston and Fort St. John.
The club meets at Zedi Solutions, 902-11th Ave SW, Calgary AB every Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.

PMI-SAC celebrates 5 years!
PMI- Southern Alberta Chapter Toastmasters Club celebrated their 5-year anniversary on June 6.
The club meets every Tuesdays at 6:25 pm in Bridgeland Riverside Community Hall in Calgary. For more information, check out the club's

The club chartered on May 25, 2012.

A Glimpse into the Future...
|
|
District 42 is currently made up of 6 Divisions and 29 Areas. The alignment of Divisions and Areas within a District is based on geographic considerations, number and strength of clubs within each Area, as well as the potential for growth.
Each year the alignment of the District is reviewed and modified as required.
The alignment of District 42, as well as the Division Directors and Area Directors that will be providing support to our clubs for the 2017/2018 Toastmasters year (effective July 1) are listed in the table below:

Summary of Alignment Changes: Some clubs have been moved into other Areas, the majority of Areas have been renumbered, and an additional Area was created for a total of 30 Areas.

The Leader Letter is a monthly email sent to all Club Officers and District Leaders from Toastmasters International. The email contains information and reminders that keep all leaders up to date.
