Grants Provide Boost for Countywide Planning & Projects

Economic development planning for the Village of Shabbona is set to begin soon thanks to a $20,000 Community Economic Development Grant. Plans include conducting a research survey to explore business and tourism opportunities.

Joining Fabrication Skills with Employability

As the Welding Technology program at Kishwaukee College continues to grow, so do the challenges they face. Through donor generosity to the Community Foundation, a grant was made to assist with the purchase of a large metal shear. The result is an enhanced welding curriculum to better train students for the workforce.

$466,878 Raised During Give DeKalb County 2017

$466,878 in donations were handed out on May 31 during a celebration and wrap-up event for Give DeKalb County. Thank you to the donors, Community Partners, Media Sponsors, supporting organizations, participating nonprofits, and volunteers for making this event an extraordinary success!

$148,928 Awarded in Local Scholarships

May and June are exciting times for scholarship awards! This year over 90 scholarship awards were presented, totaling $148,928. Of this amount, $100,238 in awards went to students from five local high schools.Thank you to the numerous donors who make awards like these possible!

Renaissance Scholarship Applications Available

Application deadline is Friday, June 30. Apply online or learn more about the 2017 Renaissance Scholarship, intended for students who were a part of the workforce and are seeking an undergraduate degree. Thank you to Yvonne Johnson for making this scholarship possible!

DeKalb County Watershed Bus Tour

Join us as we explore the watersheds in DeKalb County. Bus tour includes stops, tours, and information. Saturday, June 17 from 8 am - 1 pm. No cost to attend and lunch is provided. RSVP required.
