What's new with SACSA?!
June 2017 SACSAlert

Hello SACSA,

I hope you all are enjoying the summer and are taking some time for yourselves. The summer is always an exciting time for us as it is when we are able to partner with NASPA Region III on the New Professional's Institute and Mid-Manager's Institute. This year, we have well over 100 total participants in both programs. This is exciting as so many professionals are eager to continue their professional development. Dr. Ellen Neufeldt and Dr. Alicia Caudill have been working tirelessly to create a wonderful experience for these professionals, and I want to thank them, and all of the faculty, personally for their dedication to the field.

The conference committee is also working hard to provide our members with a wonderful experience in Chattanooga, Tennessee! We are still accepting program proposals and I would encourage you all to submit a proposal that tells our members what you're doing on your campus that is unique and innovative!

My SACSA Story

SACSA Stories
The SACSA Stories initiative strives to cultivate personal connections among our members. Through sharing our personal stories, we develop connections, learn from one another, and make meaning of our experiences. The following is a story which speaks to the various benefits of membership in SACSA.

Christina Wan, Georgia State University
Member Since 2014

"I was encouraged to be involved in SACSA by a colleague, and have never left! I am so thankful for their encouragement to join SACSA. SACSA has become a professional 'home,' where I can connect with colleagues and friends. I have been able to serve in leadership roles, get involved right as I joined the organization, and found colleagues and mentors that I admire in so many ways. SACSA is incredibly welcoming as an organization, and I have always valued that immensely."

Favorite SACSA Activity
I love the excitement in a crowd whenever anyone says, "It's SACSA time!"

Conference: Call for Programs

There's only a few days left to submit program proposals for the 2017 Annual Conference in Chattanooga, TN! Our theme for 2017, "New Directions: A Climate of Change," is a reprise from the 1961 conference theme with a new focus on social innovation. Social Innovation describes new strategies, concepts, ideas and organizations that meet social needs.

Faculty, practitioners and graduate students are invited to share innovative solutions, new research, and current trends addressing best practices in collaboration, partnerships and experiential learning in three different formats: concurrent, lightning round, and poster sessions.
The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, June 9 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Conference: Registration

Conference registration opened on Monday, June 5! SACSA members get the best deal on conference registration rates, and the earlier you register, the more you save. The regular registration window runs from June 5 to October 1, and all registration rates increase on October 1.
