Governor Issues Resolution on Fatherhood
As in past years, Governor Kasich issued a resolution declaring June to be "Responsible Fatherhood Month." Read his words of support and encouragement for Ohio's fathers by clicking on the link below.
For the fourth consecutive year, OCF is supporting several events in June that will promote positive father-child interactions and responsible fatherhood. This year, we're cosponsoring 11 responsible fatherhood celebrations and campaigns. Click Here to find an event near you.
Seven Fatherhood Grantees Selected for SFY 2018-2019
After
careful consideration, we have chosen seven established fatherhood programs to fund in state fiscal years 2018 and 2019, with two levels of funding: $240,000 for programs that serve multiple counties and $100,000 for programs that serve a single county and/or that have not previously received OCF funding. Welcome, Heidi Wallace!
The
commission welcomed a new staff person this month: Heidi Wallace. Heidi is our data researcher for the New Beginnings for New Fathers federal grant. She has a master's degree in social work and joins us from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, where she was a vocational rehabilitation counselor and managed a large number of electronic case-related data and records. We're thrilled she's bringing her social work and data research experience to OFC!
