Many have studied the correlation between personal interactions, performance, and innovation. Our new space has vast open spaces areas sandwiched between offices and conference rooms to lure workers and members to linger and mingle. Many say the "most creative ideas aren't going to come from sitting in front of a monitor," so the Chamber and the EEC have created a place for its members to each mingle with other business members of the community. The new building is really designed to spark not just collaboration and innovation but also to get members to co-mingle and start doing business with each other. We have noted that the face-to-face interactions are by far the most important activity of EEC and Chamber members so the break room has been expanded to give members and staff a "hang out" place to go, away from the phones and distractions. The Chamber values the engagement of its members and would like to see more of them meet in our open space and bump into unexpected people while enjoying our new ambiance.
