"I decided to sell my house in 40 Acres, Round Valley, in June 2013. I hired my good neighbor, Nancy Davidson, as my agent. We received 5 offers around the July 4th weekend. We accepted the highest offer and even got $1000 more than the asking price. The escrow closed on August 9th, just 2 months after it was put on the market. Nancy’s knowledge is impeccable, and her connections with people in the Eastern Sierra are vast. I was very satisfied with her professionalism, and ended as a very satisfied seller. She is highly recommended!"

"We feel very fortunate to have “stumbled” onto Nancy. We began casually looking into buying a property in Mammoth Lakes a couple of years before we actually made our purchase. As it happened, Nancy was the listing agent for the first property we looked at. Although we didn’t purchase this particular property, Nancy kept in touch with us, often sending current listings that she thought we might be interested in. Two years later, Nancy found the perfect property for us. Thanks to Nancy’s experience in the real estate market in the Mammoth Lakes area, not only was she able to assist us in negotiating a fair price, she was also able to connect us with a very responsive escrow company and a lending institution that went the extra mile for us in getting the transaction closed in a very short time. Not only did we enjoy our business dealings with Nancy, we made a new friend in the process."

Despite Higher Home Prices, More Americans Say It's a Good Time to Buy
|
Source:
REALTOR.com
Home prices are steadily rising and mortgage interest rates are beginning to inch up again, but that doesn't seem to be discouraging many potential buyers.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans, 62%, said April was a good time to buy a home, according to Fannie Mae's monthly National Housing Survey. That's just a tad more than the 60% who felt that way in March, and 61% in April 2016.
The survey polls 1,000 Americans with more than 100 questions on their attitudes toward owning and renting a home, price changes in the housing market, and the health of the economy.

"My daughter decided to buy a house in Mammoth and my old real estate agent, Greta Dickson, highly recommended Nancy Davidson. I was not disappointed. Nancy showed us the houses we were interested in and got us the house we wanted for a lot cheaper than the listed price. She was an angel taking care of the paper work and the inspection. I would recommend her to anyone buying or selling a house in Mammoth."

Unique Ways to Add More Storage to a Small Space
|
Almost everyone who lives in a small home wishes for more storage. Because floor space is at a premium, the common thought is to build up with wall shelving and other vertical storage solutions. However, you can create extra storage in many fun and unique ways. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Baskets and Bins Wicker baskets and vibrant plastic storage bins are great resources for adding storage. While they don’t hide your items, they make them look more attractive out in plain sight. They can also enhance the limited storage you already have. For example, place storage bins in your child’s closet if there’s no room for a dresser in the bedroom. Lay them on their side and stack them to create usable shelves.
Custom Shelving Many older homes have a nook that seems to have no purpose and yet, it isn’t large enough for a piece of furniture. Turn it into a storage area by adding custom shelves. If you want to hide this area, just hang a curtain around it and no one will know what you have concealed.
Crates Find old wooden crates and paint them a bright color or a shade to match your walls. Hang them in the bathroom or kitchen to hold washcloths, lotion or spices. Because they come in different depths and lengths, you can find a size to fit almost any space.
Ladders Repurpose an old wooden ladder for your bathroom. Lean it against a wall, and hang towels and washcloths. You can also use it in the bedroom if the ladder has wider steps to hold photos or even toys for your child. Just make sure you attach it to the wall, so it doesn’t become an attractive but dangerous play area for your little one.
Hanging Storage If you have few cabinets and drawers in your kitchen, you may find you don’t have enough room for everything. Purchase small pegboards or make your own and attach them to the inside of your cabinets. This is the perfect space to hang measuring spoons and cups or other small items that take up extra room.
A small space doesn’t have to be cluttered or cause for frustration. If you get creative, you’ll find unique storage solutions that fit your home and your needs. Contact me today for a consultation. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about buying or selling a home.
