We have not connected in a while, yet it feels like just yesterday we gathered in the Bren courtyard for our graduation in 2006. Indeed, life has been busy. Let me rephrase - work has been crazy, families have grown, and we have found ourselves needing to strengthen our resolve to find solutions to problems more than ever before. That's ok. If anyone can see it through, it's us.
I write to you today to see if you would join me in strengthening our collective ability to stay connected. A few of us met recently through the Bren Alumni Advisory Council (BAAC) this spring. I was really encouraged to learn more about how the school has been planning to respond to alumni requests to upgrade Bren's online community, especially the new user-friendly, Salesforce-powered, LinkedIn-enabled resource called Bren Connect. You have heard from BAAC Chair John Onderdonk and Dave Parker regarding Bren Connect. It is high time for Bren and its alums to harness the wealth of information and opportunities for our careers, aspirations, and recruitment channels.
Remember how we came together during our graduation in 2006 to raise funds for a cause we believed would reflect our values? Together we had raised one of the highest class gift amounts to date to support diversity enrollment and recruitment at Bren, an initiative that has stayed alive. We can build such a momentum again. Please join us in making a contribution of $25-$50 (or more) each to build this online tool that will serve the entire alumni community. Please join me in making Bren Connect a reality, and consider this among the many worthy and practical initiatives you support.
