Ocean Pines Freedom 5K
Join us for a patriotic start to July 4th! The day of family fun begins with the 4th Annual Ocean Pines Freedom 5K.
 
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Athletes Serving Athletes. This family-friendly race will go around the beautiful Veterans Memorial Park, cross Ocean Parkway and travel through the Ocean Pines community, past the South Gate Pond to the finish line near the Veterans Memorial.

Offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Maryland Safe Boating Class and certificate are required for boat operators born after July 1, 1972. Learn Maryland boating regulations, safely navigating and piloting Ocean City waters, basic nautical knots, trailering a boat, safety equipment and maintenance. Fee includes all course materials. US Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat Safety Inspections

Free boat safety inspections will be offered by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary beginning at 8am. Boaters who wish to have their boats inspected must sign up in advance at the marina gas dock.

Ocean Pines Anglers Club Meeting

The speaker at this month's meeting will be Zack Greenberg, a senior associate at The Pew Charitable Trusts focusing on marine conservation issues as a part of its US Oceans, Northeast team. Greenberg raises awareness about the importance of forage fish like menhaden, also known as bunker or pogy, and river herring and shad. How these species are managed in the future has huge implications for the ocean food web and many of the sport fish, marine mammals and birds we enjoy today. All are welcome.
