Senate Democrats Commend House Majority Leadership's Immediate  Action on the Call for the Resignation of Representative Zach Fansler

 

JUNEAU - Senator Berta Gardner (D-Anchorage) released the following statement regarding the House Majority Coalition's action on the call for the resignation of Representative Zach Fansler (D-Bethel):

 

"The Senate Democrats commend the swift action of the House Majority Coalition today in demanding the resignation of Representative Fansler. The actions described in the news reports are deeply troubling and undermine the trust of his constituents and his colleagues. Whenever an act like this occurs, the accused needs to be held accountable.

 

"Physical violence against anyone needs to be taken seriously. It is unacceptable in any form. We stand in support of the victim in coming forward and appreciate the brave steps taken to do so."
