Grades 3-5 Annual Spring Music Performance

On Thursday evening, our 3rd-5th grade students held their annual spring music performance. Students shared their talents in singing, percussion, and xylophone and our fifth grade beginner band also performed for the first time. A big thank you to Mr. Wyatt and Ms. Kasiske for their hard work with our music students all year long! In addition, French and Spanish students each shared a song in the language they are learning -- thank you to Profe and Madame Meyer for including this in their program!

Next up, K-2 Music performance is on Friday, May 19th in the Peabody gym.

Social Justice Heroes
A 7th Grade Art Project

The seventh graders have been thinking about perception in a variety of ways this year in art. In this project they considered the different ways a person can be depicted and how that depiction affects how that person is perceived by the audience of the image. Shepard Fairey's artwork inspired how they blended simplified portraits with design elements to glorify their subjects. The subjects were social justice heroes that the students were studying in their service learning class with Mrs. Wynn. The artwork is made up of two layers. The top layer is the portrait done with permanent marker on transparent paper. The lower layer (visible through the transparent paper) was painted with watercolors. Please check out the gallery in the main hallway.
Support Peabody School!

Donor Spotlight

With a daughter who is now a high school senior (she attended Peabody grades 1-8) and a son who is currently a Peabody eighth grader, we have learned the value of a Peabody education. My daughter found her transition to high school an easy one, as she was well prepared with strong study habits, and this enabled her to consistently perform at the top of her class. Peabody has helped to create exceptional opportunities for our son, as he prepares for a move to a rigorous Boston school. The Peabody experience fosters a love of learning, active classroom participation, and an ability to self-advocate—all things not readily found in other settings.

As Peabody has made such a positive contribution to our children, we felt it important to show our support of the school. Once we understood that the school depends on the Annual Fund to supplement tuition for important purposes such as additions or improvements to classrooms and courses, technology and teacher development, we became a yearly donor. The amount we contribute varies, depending on our financial situation, but I feel confident that a gift of any size directly supports the needs of our children’s school.

Thank you to everyone (donor roll) who has already made a gift! We are aiming for 100% participation from our families!

Peabody Mosaic Project

Join us for fun mosaic creation and community. Sign up Required (Limited space so that we have a productive amount of people). This is an opportunity for students and their families to work together. This is not a drop off event. As the mosaic is getting higher we need older students, for these two dates, only students from 2nd grade and older. Children should be accompanied by adults. Bring snacks to sustain our mosaic making energy.
