Hyde Park to be in National Spotlight

C-SPAN in partnership with Altice USA reveals Hyde Park history and highlights authors during weeklong visit  The Town of Hyde Park and telecommunications company Altice USA, which provides Optimum-branded TV, phone and internet services in the New York metro area, will welcome C-SPAN to Hyde Park on Monday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum as they kick off a visit to record the history and non-fiction literary life of the town on the cable network's non-fiction book channel BookTV (on C-SPAN2) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN3).

In partnership with Altice USA, C-SPAN producers will reveal the stories and segments that will be explored by the national network. During their time in Hyde Park, C-SPAN producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians, non-fiction authors and conduct educational and community outreach in the area. The event keynote speaker is Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum Director Paul Sparrow, who will discuss FDR's tie to the Hudson Valley region.

Local segments recorded during the week of  May 21-25  will air on BookTV on C-SPAN2 and on American History TV on C-SPAN3 throughout C-SPAN's special Hyde Park weekend,  June 17-18 . Altice USA's Optimum customers in the Hyde Park area can access C-SPAN2 on Optimum channel 66 and C-SPAN3 on Optimum channel 107.

C-SPAN's 2017 Cities Tour takes Book TV and American History TV on the road. BookTV (on C-SPAN2) and American History TV (on C-SPAN3) are featuring the literary life and history of each of these selected cities during special weekends on the public affairs network.
