Share the good news
We are constantly surrounded by news, some good and some bad. Our call as Christians is to share the good news of Christ with others. One of our priorities at CBFNC is to tell the story of God's work within our Fellowship. We know that good things are happening in your life, your church, and your community. And we want to share that "good news" with others. Whether your youth are embarking on an exciting mission experience this summer or you are participating in a specialized church leadership training, other churches around our state can learn from what you are doing.

We want to help spread the word, but we need your help! We would love to share your story with others on the CBFNC blog or CBFNC Facebook page. Your experiences can inspire, educate, and encourage other church leaders serving God's Kingdom. Send your reflections, stories, pictures, or updates to CBFNC  and we will share your good news!

Illumination Project - NC Regional Meetings
How can we reflect more light and less heat in our life together as  Cooperative Baptists? CBF's Illumination Project brings CBF churches  and Cooperative Baptists with their full convictions into a respected and trustworthy place.

Charlie Fuller and Paul Baxley, members of the Illumination Project Steering Committee, will lead sessions in several North Carolina cities in June. Each session will last 90 minutes with the purpose of understanding the goals of the project and having your voice heard.

Charlie, Executive Pastor of First, Washington, D.C. is chair of the committee. Paul is  Pastor of First, Athens, GA, and a North Carolina native. They will be accompanied by  Larry Hovis,  CBFNC Executive Coordinator.

New Bible study leadership resource
The Alphabet of Errors: How to Teach the Bible Better, a brand new resource written by CBFNC Church Resources Coordinator Rick Jordan, is now available! With over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Rick Jordan has learned what works - and what does not - in leading a Bible study.

Using the alphabet, Dr. Jordan itemizes 26 errors common to Bible study teachers, such as the first three chapters on Assumptions, Bullies, and Calling on the Introvert. With humor, humility, and wisdom, the book promises to help the beginning teacher get off to a good start and to help the good teacher become a great teacher.

Are you a New Church Planter?
The CBF Church Start Discernment Cohorts is a free 8-week online experience is for those discerning and living out a call into church starting. It is a creative space for folk who are already in the process of starting a church to explore and work through the vision and mission. This is a safe space for all participants who engage in the secure and private site. Participants will work through the basics of contextual church starting, introspective writing, and group conversation. Over the 8-weeks, the candidate will be accumulating his or her writings in a church start profile, which serves as a tool for the starter and evaluation tool for CBF.  Future cohorts will be July 9-September 1, 2017, and October 8-December 1, 2017. To join the cohort, candidates must complete this form

Personnel Requests
Frequently CBFNC receives requests from churches about placing an ad for filling church positions or staff. While we do not have a place for these ads in our newsletter, The Gathering, we are willing to publish positions on our Ministry Job Board. We also offer a Reference and Referral service with our Ministerial Transitions Coordinators for staff positions. Please visit our website to learn more about staff placement through CBFNC.

Looking for a Place in Ministry? Learn more about the Ministerial Transitions Facilitators.

List your ministry position on CBFNC's new job board!  Take a look!

CBFNC's headquarters are not in an office suite in Winston-Salem, but in congregations from the Atlantic in the east to the Appalachians in the west. Thank you for your partnership!
