Food Collection
This Sunday
On Sunday, we will collect food for Ghent Area Ministry (GAM).
Please bring canned goods such as tuna, and other non-perishable items such as cereal, to help stock the pantry at this outreach ministry.
And remember, you have an additional option to help. For a donation of $5 or $3.50, we will have a limited number of pre-assembled Food Bags available that we will send. Any checks should be made out to the church. For more information about GAM,

Interim Music Director
The United Methodist Church is a global body of Believers, and little more draws people closer together than music. The church's music supplements that have been published, introduce us to congregational song originating in many countries. Last Sunday, we learned a song in the Shona language from Zimbabwe. African music is often rhythmic, unaccompanied by melodic instruments, and sung in harmony. Methodists, too, have a rich tradition of singing together (and Ghent United Methodist is no exception). This summer, we will continue our musical journey through Africa, Asia and Europe where we will be encouraged to sing the songs of our brothers and sisters all over the world.
Next Sunday, July 2nd we will have a "pickup choir" for the anthem. If you like to sing but have a hard time making a midweek practice commitment, join us in the fellowship hall at 9:15 to rehearse the music for the service and learn the anthem. You may sit with your family and come up at the proper time. Please come!

Can you volunteer once a month to help educate our youth? During worship, we offer children's church for children ages 4 through 5th grade. During the scripture and sermon, they go the library for a brief Bible lesson, activity or craft. To sign up for a Sunday, click here. |
