Look Out: Exciting Events Are Coming Up

Join Us for a Fabulous Breakfast at Tiffany's Brunch
Table sales are now open for the 2017 $25,000 World Championship Hunter Rider West Coast Hunter Spectacular Breakfast at Tiffany's Sunday Brunch Gala at ushja.org/WCHRWestCoast.

The elegant affair will provide spectators with the best views for watching the $25,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular, which will be on Sunday, June 11, during the Blenheim June Classic I Horse Show at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Table sales support the WCHR Program, which in part benefits the USHJA Foundation Horseman's Assistance Fund.
Additionally, spectators can be a part of the class by participating in the USHJA Foundation's High-Score Challenge. The challenge is simple: spectators choose a dollar amount to pledge for every high score earned in the class to make a charitable donation to the USHJA Foundation. Anyone who wants to participate can do so by texting the word HUNTER to 91999, clicking the link that is texted back and completing the form on their phone.

During the WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular, every score of 85 will constitute a "High Score." Following the event, all donors will receive receipts directly to their phones with the tax deductible amount of their donation.
The Ponies Are Coming!
Week 5 of the Tryon International Equestrian Center's summer series will feature  the inaugural USHJA Foundation Pony Spectacular, offering pony riders the opportunity to prepare and practice in a large, competitive atmosphere before USEF Pony Finals later in the summer.

"Pony riders are the next generation. We get so focused on the Grand Prix or International Hunter Derby, but these riders need to be highlighted," said Jennifer Smith with Tryon Equestrian Partners and a USHJA Foundation board member. "We are looking forward to this being a great opportunity for them to compete at a facility that will prepare them for Pony Finals and have a lot of fun."

A $10,000 Pony Hunter Derby will highlight competition in the George H. Morris Arena on Friday, June 30, ahead of a full line-up of Pony Classics hosted in the main arena on Saturday, July 1, and a $1,000 Pony Jumper Classic on Sunday, July 2.

An array of family friendly activities and entertainment, including a Pool Pizza Party and Pajama Movie Night, will be incorporated into the event, providing competitors and their families a weeklong getaway focused on pony competition!

Entries close June 18.

For more information visit www.tryon.com.
Brandywine: Where Charities Meet

The competition offers an array of classes, from a USHJA Pony Hunter Derby to the USHJA International Hunter Derby. The competition is recognized by NAL, WIHS, THIS, Ariat, SJHF, PHSA, MHSA, M&S, EPPHA, CPJHSA and PJA.

Entries close May 26.

We hope to see you there. For more information visit www.brandywinehorseshows.com.

History in the Making at the Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic
The Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic, July 6-16 in Moreland Hills, Ohio, supports several charities, including the USHJA Foundation.

Spectators can be a part of the Grand Prix on Sunday, July 16, by participating in the USHJA Foundation's Clear-Round Challenge. The challenge is simple: spectators choose a dollar amount to pledge for every clear round earned in the class to make a charitable donation to the USHJA Foundation. Anyone who wants to participate can do so by texting the word JUMPER to 91999, clicking the link that is texted back and completing the form on their phone.

Entries close June 19.

We hope to see you there. For more information visit chagrinhunterjumperclassic.org.

Support and Inspiration Abound
Marley Jordan and Andre Dignelli at WEF. Photo by Jump Media LLC
Since the beginning of the year, the Foundation has been hard at work supporting USHJA members, helping inspire and support them in their greatest times of need. This is all possible through the generous support of individuals and organizations, like those donors listed on the left-hand side of this newsletter.

We have awarded more than $79,000 in grants to support members in various ways from helping members recover from natural disasters like fires and floods to creating inspiring experiences for members facing adversity.

With summer on the horizon, the USHJA Foundation Youth Committee is ready to spring into action. You can expect to see the presence of the youth within the Foundation drastically increase in the coming weeks, months and years.

While the Youth Committee is constantly evolving and expanding, we are pleased to introduce our newest additions. With the support and guidance of the greater USHJA Foundation, co-chairs Kirstie Dobbs and Hailey Johns have selected the first group of Youth Committee Ambassadors. We are proud to introduce Alexis Bauman, Hana Bieling, Ella Doerr, Kennedy Duke, Johanna Jessen, Charlotte Novy, Stevi Ann Thompson, and Lizzy Traband. Each of these young women bring to the table a unique set of abilities and insights that will help take the USHJA Foundation to the next level.

With a range of ages and backgrounds, the Youth Committee Ambassadors aim to connect all sectors of the equestrian community to the opportunities available within the USHJA Foundation. From speaking at 4-H and Pony Club meetings to organizing fundraisers at AA horse shows, the Youth Committee is determined to increase Foundation fundraising and awareness.
