Dear Friends,

As the school year draws to a close the temperature heats up, and so does the planning process for next year.  Your opinion and insight is crucial to decision making and planning for the future success of Assumption Catholic School and the Diocese of Bridgeport Schools as a whole.

Last week you should have received a survey from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Steven Cheesman.  I request that you take the time to complete that survey honestly and completely. This survey will expire on June 2, so please do your best to complete it prior to that date.  If for some reason you have not received this survey, please email [email protected] and include your name and that you are a family from Assumption.

Many of you are accustomed to the end of the year survey distributed by our School Advisory Board.  The information you have provided has helped guide our decision making and strategic planning.  This practice will continue, but this year the survey will be more detailed and involved.

Assumption Catholic School is accredited by NEASC, a regional organization that holds schools to high standards to ensure the highest quality education for our students. Every 10 years the accreditation must be renewed.  We are currently going through this process. Throughout the 2017-18 school year we will be working on completing our self study documentation to prepare for our Fall of 2018 visit by NEASC.  An extensive survey of our constituent groups is vital to this self study.

In the coming weeks please look for the NEASC survey in your email.  I will be sending it out before the school year ends with a hope of having the data in-hand to start the writing process next year.

I thank you for your time and consideration to help Assumption and the Diocese provide the best faith based education for your children.

Many Blessings,

Steven J. Santoli

Student Art Show

Thank you to Mrs. Scarlato for all of her hard work in putting on a fantastic Art Show to showcase our student's work.  The displayed art demonstrated her dedication to encourage and inspire our young artists.
Congratulations to all of the students on their wonderful pieces of art. You continue to impress with your talents and skills.
Thank you to the families and friends that came out to celebrate the success of our students and support the arts at Assumption.
Tuition Assistance Committee Appeals for Financial Assistance

Families must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid application at  FACTS MGT.COM to receive any financial assistance for the 2017-18 school year. All financial assistance is granted on a yearly basis and not guaranteed from year to year.

Financial assistance decisions are based on the financial need assessment performed by FACTS. Certain hardship cases will be considered at the local level.

Appeals to the Tuition Assistance Committee
If a family feels they need more financial assistance after all scholarship funds have been exhausted, they are invited to make an appeal to the Tuition Assistance Committee.  The TAC is a group, independent of the school administration, that hears appeals and determines eligibility for Assumption Grants.

To be considered for tuition assistance the family must have applied for BSF and met the April 1 deadline.   Applications and instructions will be distributed to eligible families by May 26.

If you have any questions about your eligibility for financial assistance, please contact Mr. Santoli directly.
