Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
New Member and Graduation Sunday
We celebrate the addition of new members at our Ignite service, where we'll also have a potluck brunch at 11 am in the chapel. At 9:30 am, we celebrate our high school graduates in worship and at a lunch with their families after the service. The Music Makers will play too!
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

Jesus’ vision for the church is that we would be one: a group of followers, united in serving him, loving one another and God’s world. We wonder if Jesus had any inkling of what the world would be like by our time, or how divided we would be. Most of us cannot remember living in a more fractured culture than our current America. However, as people of faith, we are seldom more united than when we are serving God together, when we are rolling up our sleeves, offering ourselves and our love, doing mission and service. It is in those moments that we often find our commonalities and share a common spirit. Every time..

Children are our Future. Help Lead them this Summer at Sunday Camp.
Beginning June 4, and continuing through August 13, PVUMC offers weekly summer Sunday classes for preschoolers - 4th graders. It's a more relaxed time of year, and we encourage our regular Sunday school teachers to take a well-deserved break while encouraging others who love children and want to share their faith with children to help lead during the summer. Please check your schedule and sign up by emailing Rev. Brenda Smith. Just once or twice will help a lot, and you'll be working with others as a team.

Pastor Eve's Appointment Upheld
On May 17, Bishop Robert Hoshibata met with a group of PVUMC lay leaders to respond to and better understand their concerns regarding the appointment of Rev. Eve Williams as pastor of Advent United Methodist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada, effective July 1, 2017. After a lengthy discussion and prayerful consideration, the Bishop told the group that he stood by his decision, but would work with the church to help meet our pastoral needs after Pastor Eve's departure. Eve and William will be dearly missed, and you are invited to donate to a love gift for her and her son. You're also invited to join us June 11 for a reception.
Volunteer at VBC - July 17-21
Adults and youth in 7th grade and up are encouraged to volunteer at Hero Central, this year's Vacation Bible Camp program, July 17-21. This comes BEFORE the youth mission trip and AFTER Camp Mingus, so please help us reach out to children and the community. You can be God's love in action this summer!
