ABOUT
Le Cercle France-Ameriques
France-Amériques is the meeting point of the Franco-American elites from the worlds of diplomacy, business, finance, research, defense and culture. The "Cité France Amerique" was founded in 1909 at the initiative of Gabriel Hanotaux, former Minister of Foreign Affairs. It reacted to a genuine incongruity: at the beginning of the twentieth century, in the nomenclature of the services of the Ministry, America was still classified under the heading "various countries. " The mission of this Committee was then clear and ambitious: informing and alerting leaders and public opinion of the importance of the United States in the life of the world. In 1927 the Committee acquired the hotel Le Marois, a beautiful residence built around 1863 in the young district of the Champs Élysées of the Second Empire. Today the vocation of France-Americas expands by developing the bonds of friendship between France and all the American nations.
