For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear STCCS Parents and Families,

The end of the school year is upon us, and in two days, so will summer vacation be!!!! It feels like just yesterday that we began this 2016-2017 school year together. Where has the time gone? This has been a year of changes for us as a community.  It is hard to believe that we are approaching the end of the school year! As we spend some time reflecting on this year and thinking about the SFA, it's apparent to us that we are all important members of an amazing school community that continues to grow each year. The events that we support reinforces the already strong fabric of our Phoenix Warrior Community. By continuing to build a strong community, we help to enrich the educational experience of our children.  We want to thank this community for their patience and support throughout the year! We look forward to seeing what we will accomplish next year.

We had a fantastic fundraising year with our 50/50 raffle, Annual CNY Benefit, and the Spring Talent Show.  While it is easy to see our SFA in action by highlighting events like those above, it may be difficult to see the day-to-day impact that the SFA has on STCCS and our children. We hope that you understand the importance of your continued support: These activities such as the Scholastic Book Fair, volunteering and assisting teachers during field trips, Portillo's Fundraising Night, and providing for teachers' wish lists demonstrate a direct impact on our children's education. Without the support of these events, programs will become challenging to maintain and could cease to exist at STCCS. This is why the community and school are so grateful for parents like you. Without your support our children would not be able to have continued wonderful opportunities.

A couple of our goals for next year are:

1. Support Ms. Cavallone, her administration, and the staff with volunteers and fundraising, especially to upgrade our early childhood programs.
2. Create more opportunities for family involvement and fun at school.

As the executive board finishes up their terms next spring, we encourage each and every one of you to give some thought to nominating yourself or others for any of these roles.  Our school relies heavily on the efforts of the SFA which cannot be successful without dedicated Executive Board members. It is time for us to have new, fresh, and innovative ideas to keep our school strong and growing.

As you reflect on this past year, please know that you made a difference and you were a big part in making 2016-2017 a great and memorable year. We look forward to working with you to make 2017-2018 another unforgettable year. We are so proud to be a part of this wonderful community! We thank each and every one of you for everything you have done this year to support students and staff. Without you, none of these things would be possible. You should be proud of the huge difference you made in your child's education this year.  Please feel free to keep the lines of communication open. Without it, we cannot continue to thrive nor expand our success!

One final note, the 2017-2018 SFA meetings have been scheduled for Thursday evenings to accommodate more parents.  Be sure to mark your calendars!

Please have a safe and happy summer - enjoy your families!

Peace and Love,

Anita and Elisa
