"Can you help us make a difference?"

The Amigos de Guatemala are sending 3 people to Monte Margarita to assist with the building of the multi-use facility and clinic. They will be there from May 27 through June 3. They will be doing hard labor but also reinforcing the bond we have with members of that community. We ask for your prayers for them as they make this journey.

Children's Sermon
for May 21 (based on John 14:15-21)  Items needed: 2 bananas.  Ask for a volunteer.  Take out a banana.  Now I am going to show that I care for (volunteer's name)  by sharing my banana with him/her.  Peel banana and give volunteer peel while you keep the  fruit.  There, I shared my banana!  Then ask, if I really like/love (volunteer's name), how might I share my banana---give what's inside the banana, not just the outside, the peel.  In today's Bible reading, Jesus says, "if you really love me, you will do as I guide you to do."  That means that I need to try, every day, to ask Jesus  for help to live like Jesus wants me to live.  Just coming to church is kind of like just giving Jesus the peel, but trying to live each day ,trying to follow Jesus, is like giving  Him  (hold up fruit)  the best part of me. Then give volunteer the other banana for being a good sport .
- Rev. David Quinn
