Leading the Fashion District in a New Era



California Apparel News recently featured LA Fashion District BID Executive Director Rena Masten Leddy and highlighted the LA Fashion District's transformation into a more 24/7 neighborhood, including a dozen new projects and developments. The article notes the district's evolution is happening in waves, as the energy and construction moves West to East. It notes the Fashion District will soon be home to four hotels, a major movie studio, and is already attracting small, hip and independent stores.

April 2017 Trash Tonnage Report




The LA Fashion District BID Clean Team is now collecting approximately 7 tons of trash per day.

LA Market Week Fall II/Holiday 2017, June 5-8 




The June market week, also known as the Fall II/Holiday 2017 L.A. Fashion Market, will take place June 5th through the 8th in the LA Fashion District's designer showrooms. During market week designers and brands debut collections for the upcoming seasons and buyers are invited to view the new merchandise and place orders. LA Fashion Market is the West Coast's premier destination for contemporary fashions including apparel, accessories, and footwear.

Various trade shows are hosted in the LA Fashion District during market week. Trade shows typically highlight established and up-and-coming designers that do not have permanent showrooms in the area. With thousands of brands participating in LA market week, this is the place for buyers to discover new brands and create new shopping experiences. Click here to learn more.



Mermaid on Main
Oakland-based artist, Hueman recently completed a colorful mural at 828 Main St, title "Mermaid on Main." The mural shows the back of a woman's head, her colorful purple mane flowing behind her. It's the artists largest mural to date and the sixth mural to go up in the Fashion District. See it at 9th and Main Streets.

Last Remaining Seats

The LA Conservancy's signature series, Last Remaining Seats will kick off in the LA Fashion District with a screening of L.A. Confidential at The Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, June. 3. Last Remaining Seats presents films as they were meant to be seen: on the big screen, in a beautiful theatre, surrounded by fellow fans, and accompanied by vintage cartoons, special guests, and more.  Learn more .
