FPA Color Run

Magenta, aquamarine, fuchsia, goldenrod, crimson, cyan, and coral colors filled the air at the FPA Color Run! The students loved running while the parents sprayed them with colored water. I think the parents were extra gleeful as they sprayed the kids! It was so much fun watching the colored packets of cornstarch flying through the air...it made for some wonderful pictures! This is one of my favorite pics of sweet Sarah covered in teal!

JH Debate
Thank you for a great tournament this past Saturday. I was very proud of all of our debaters for their hard work and commitment, and I hope that they too can see how much they've grown in debate. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Siddiqui for judging for our Anaheim Hills squad for so many of our events this year. In this email, I wanted to give you all some reminders and make a few general announcements.

Fairmont Anaheim Hills took 3rd Place overall school! What a great end to the year!

I am happy with the progress of the Anaheim Hills squad this year. We are heading in the right direction going into next year, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of my 6th and 7th graders grow into excellent debaters. First grade parents came together for a mock "Paint Nite." The parents and kids together painted a painting of a rainbow with a heart in the middle. While they were painting, the kids and parents talked and spent time together while enjoying a fun snack that the kids packed.

Flag football is a version of American football where the basic rules of the game are similar to those of the mainstream game, often called "tackle football" for contrast. Instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier called "deflagging" to end a down. In this camp, the athletes will learn the basic football skills to prepare them for participating on a flag football team. Such skills as throwing, catching, and flag pulling will all be covered, as well as an understanding of how the game works and teaching the basic rules.

Mommies and Muffins

On Monday, May 8 our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students celebrated their mommies with a special breakfast. They feasted on a spread of fresh fruit, yogurt and berry parfaits, breakfast sandwiches, and a potato medley. Kids enjoyed their special time with their mommies, and mommies had fun chatting with each other. Thank you to all who were able to attend this fun event, and thank you to all mommies for all that you do everyday!

Easels on the Playground!
I'm excited to share that our Preschool Playground has a fun new addition - easels! We started out with a bang on Wednesday with chalk drawing and painting, which was quite messy but super fun! We will continue with the everyday fun of chalk drawing and crayon drawing, with painting brought out for special occasions. Providing children with easels and art materials on the playground is a fantastic way to engage less active children during playtime, and for them to develop fine motor skills outside of the classroom. Waiting for their turn, creating a drawing together, and talking about their drawings also contributes to their social emotional development. Be sure to ask your child about these new easels, and maybe even get one for your house as well!

If you ever have any questions or feedback, please let me know at [email protected]. As always, give a hug to your little one!
