PSAT Scoring Night - Tomorrow!
Tomorrow, January 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the 207A/MPR we will be hosting Princeton Review for a PSAT Scoring Night. Learn why these scores are significant and how they can help you prepare for the big tests that you'll encounter next: the SAT and the ACT. We will cover information related to preparation for the ACT/SAT and answer many of your questions regarding the college search and application process. Bulletin for AP Students and Parents Now Available
The 2017-2018 Bulletin for AP Students and Parents is now available. It will be distributed in students' AP classes; you can access it online here. It includes important information about the AP Exams, including the policies and procedures for exam administration and security that help ensure a fair and uniform testing experience for all students. On exam day, you'll be asked to sign a statement on your answer sheet indicating that you understand and agree to the policies and procedures in this publication. Please take some time to review the bulletin and reach out to your AP teacher or counselor with any questions.
Newport Beach Public Library AP Practice Test
Bank of America is Looking for Leaders!
Bank of America is looking for the next generation of community leaders. If you are a Junior or Senior in high school and are working to make a difference in your school or community, this is for you. As a Student Leader, you will participate in an eight week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization, where you will learn first-hand about the needs of your community and the critical role that nonprofits play. In addition, you will learn valuable civic, social and business leadership skills. Each Student Leader will attend the Student Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.C., where you will learn how government, business and the nonprofit sector work together to address critical community needs.   Click here to learn more ; the deadline to apply is February 2!
Sharpen your test-taking skills with free, full-length practice tests, administered, scored and reviewed by C2 Education through the Newport Beach Public Library on Saturday, February 17 and 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no charge for the tests, but students must register. Space is limited. Students should sign up at NBPL's "Calendar" at www.newportbeachlibrary.org

Students can choose to test in one of the following subjects per day:
  • AP World History
  • AP U.S. History
  • AP Biology
  • AP Chemistry
  • AP Calculus AB
Learning Success Program
Final exams are right around the corner! The learning lab will be open for students that would like to take advantage of the smaller, quieter environment. This year a new procedure for requesting to take a final exam in the learning lab has been implemented. All requests must be made in writing via email and completed no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018.   Click here to review the final exam request procedure.
Tip of The Week
Give your child some grace this week. Finals can be a stressful time, so support your child in any way that you can. Give them extra words of encouragement. Provide a quiet place for them to study and be sure they have a nutritious breakfast each morning. Those extra efforts can go a long way!
