Women's Leadership Council unveils its new name - Women United. 
Women Unite for Annual Awards Luncheon
The conference room of the Charleston Marriott was filled with members of the Women's Leadership Council, an affinity group of engaged, philanthropic women who have made a $1,000+ commitment to Trident United Way. The group, which has been led by Ingevity's Christian MacIver for the past year, came together to recognize the work of three special women who have made a different in our community.

Fun at Finance & Food Trucks!
In observance of April as National Financial Literacy Month, the Prosperity Centers held a Finance & Food Trucks event at Calvary Church of God in Christ in Goose Creek on Sat. April 29 from 11 - 2 pm.  Sixteen community agencies, including Prosperity Center partners Palmetto Goodwill and Origin SC, came together for a day of financial literacy workshops, food trucks, live music and activities for children.

Hassell Sets Mark as First Multi-Term Campaign Cabinet Chair
After a successful 2016 campaign season, The Bank of South Carolina President and CEO Fleetwood Hassell signed up to serve as campaign cabinet chair for a second year - the first time anyone has held the position for more than one term in the 73-year history of Trident United Way.

Success Story: From 'Learning to Read' to 'Reading to Learn'
When you meet Rhayden, a sixth grader at Morningside Middle School, you would never guses that his fourth grade teacher described him as quiet and introverted. With individualized support from Communities in Schools, a Trident United Way  funded partner, Rhayden's reading level improved by a grade and a half in two years. His confidence has soared as a result, helping him make the transition to middle school.
