COMMUNITY ROBOTICS TEAM
Grades 9-12
Geekspace Gwinnett is starting a F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition team to compete in the ultimate sport for the mind. Our students will learn concepts in mechanics, electronics, programming and tool use year-round. Then, during an intense six-week build season that starts in January, the students will develop inventive solutions to a new challenge. Together, they'll bring their ideas to life: working as a team and following engineering best practices, they'll design, prototype, CAD, program, CNC, build and wire their robots. They'll launch their robots into competition, competing against teams from all over Georgia and maybe the world. And it's not just about engineering: we'll have opportunities related to business, video production, design and graphic arts, project management, strategy, and much more. At the end of the day, we hope our students call it "the hardest fun they've ever had."
