The Last 26 Days
If you haven't heard, the elementary students and staff participate in the Alphabet Countdown to celebrate the final 26 days of the school year.

Reminder to Pk-1st Grade Parents
Elementary had a wonderful author visit them this week on Wednesday. There are signed copies of her books,
Alphabetter, Words, and
How I Did It still available. These books will be available through the elementary library until Friday, May 19th OR until all copies have been sold. Please see attached
order form for details.

End of the Year ABC Countdown Reminder
As a fun way of celebrating the last weeks of school, we are doing an "End of the Year ABC Countdown." Each school day has a different activity depending on the letter of the day. Your child may need to bring certain things on various days. This year we are dedicating our ABC Countdown to Mr. Vandercar! This sheet (
click here) will help your child remember what day in the "countdown" we are on. We hope your child enjoys his/her last days!

Student Council Summer Toy and Clothing Drive
Pleasantdale Student Council is collecting new summer toys and clothing items for kids in need. Please leave toys in their original packaging and tags on all clothing items.

Making Summer Plans....To Read!
Well our recent weather may not be in agreement, but the calendar is telling us that summer is almost here! With that comes new schedules, carpools to arrange, and a whole new sense of being busy in different ways.

9th Annual Cancer Walk 
We are having the kickoff for our 9th Annual Cancer Walk for American Cancer Society this week. The walk will take place the last day of school on Wednesday, June 7 from 9:00-11:00am and the students in grades 5, 6, and 7 will use the Pleasant Dale Park District track across the street. Students will be raising money for the fundraiser and last year, the three grade levels collected over $16,000! Families are invited to attend and join in on the ceremony of honoring and remembering loved ones who have had their lives affected by cancer. If you are a survivor, please notify [email protected]. Survivors will be leading the first lap and then everyone walks/runs for an hour.

Online Registration for 2017-18 is Now Open in Skyward Family Access
Login to your Skyward Family Access www.d107.org account and complete the registration steps for each child. Please make sure you click "completed" after each step. You will not be allowed to go to the next step unless you have completed the prior step. If you are not returning to the district next year, please let your school office know!

BrightBytes Survey Reminder
District 107 is reaching out to ask you to participate in a parent survey. Your participation is essential in helping us form a template to guide us on this journey. All of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. Your responses will assist District 107's technology decisions. There are separate surveys for elementary school and middle school parents (see below). If you have children at both schools please take the survey for the school of your youngest child.
This survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and can be completed from any internet enabled device (e.g. smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc.). The survey is now open and the last day to complete the survey is Sunday, May 14.

Register for Pleasantdale Summer Sports Camps!
All Pleasantdale District 107 Summer Sports Camps are held at Pleasantdale Middle School and spots are still available.
If your child is interested in basketball, volleyball or cross country, be sure to check out Pleasantdale's summer sport camps!
All interested students should turn in their completed registration form and payment to their school office by May 31 to guarantee a camp t-shirt.

8th Grade Dinner Dance Invite & Sponsorships
The 8th Grade Dinner Dance Invitations were mailed to your homes recently. The Dinner Dance will be held on Monday, June 5th from 5:30-10pm at Capri Banquets in Countryside. PLEASE RSVP your child's attendance or regrets by Thursday, May 15th to [email protected]. The Dinner Dance Committee will send additional details later during the month of May.
This year's theme for the Dinner Dance is "NEON BEACH NIGHTS." If you are interested in sponsoring anything for the event, please review the attached letter and notify the 8th grade team via email at [email protected], indicating which item you would like to sponsor. Some examples of sponsorship items are:
- Memory Booklet
- Neon and Beach Accessories
- Sweet Table goodies - Candy, Desserts, Fruit Tray, Snacks
- Photo Booth
- Class Picture
- DVD, cases and labels - for a compilation of pictures throughout the school year.
