2017 Legislative Wrap Up

The South Carolina Legislature wrapped up Year 1 of the 2 year 2016-2018 Session on May 11. You can click here to read about the PCC's Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety bill H.3615, and  here  to see what's on the horizon
for  the  future  of state advocacy!
The PCC works at the State Level
in the Interest  of Local Advocates
That is what we do.

The PCC, established over 20 years ago by a dedicated group of cycling enthusiasts
and local bike advocates, was started as a vehicle for connecting local advocates
and fortifying, at the state level, for local interests.

Today, our individual membership has grown,
local movements have grown, and our mission has evolved.

Via the SC Mayor's Bike & Walk Summit, we support and empower local movements.
Yet our state has the 4th largest state road system,
and the time is ripe to work at the state level to validate those local needs.
PCC staff were hired from the local movement sphere.
And we currently work in those interests at the state level, for your collective local efforts.

We advocate for better biking and walking,  at every level, for every reason,
health, community, vitality, economics, and justice,
f ocusing in the next few years on SCDOT, the state legislature, and supporting local efforts.

Local Spotlight:  Festivelo!

We have to admit this 3 day ride every year is our favorite.  Don't miss SC's annual gathering of cyclists from around our state, in a fully supported, tiered
(20-35, 55-65, 95-105), social, and  well organized ride, complete with great food and festivities.
Festivelo and it s groove never disappoint.
