Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

Here in Fog City, the weather may not often agree with the calendar’s assertion that summer is upon us.  But our Parks, Beaches & Recreation Department understands.  Beginning June 5, registration will be available for summer swim lessons either in person or online (see below).  Be sure to take advantage of another great program offered by PB&R!

While the weather may not be summer-like warm this holiday weekend, it certainly will be close to ideal to take advantage of your home town’s natural beauty.  Memorial Day is a time to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country.  A walk along the many trails in the City just may be the perfect way to reflect upon all those who have given so much so that we can enjoy these amenities.

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you for wanting to   Connect with Pacifica!

Best,
KEITH BRESKIN
Interim City Manager

Pacifica Library Project Community Outreach
City residents provided insight on the existing Sharp Park and Sanchez libraries at the recent community workshops hosted at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School on Tuesday May 23rd. Students at the middle school were given the first chance to see the list of potential Library sites identified by the Library Advisory Committee and make suggestions for other potential library sites around the City. Community members then visited an open house ahead of the evening’s community workshop where detailed discussions of the existing libraries' benefits and challenges were recorded, with clear direction on the types of spaces and activities the community would most like to see in the future. A further community event was held at the Pacifica Farmers Market in Rockaway Beach on Wednesday May 24th, where residents, undeterred by strong winds, engaged with Group 4 architects and City Staff to help imagine Pacifica libraries opportunities. Visit www.cityofpacifica.org/library-project or email the City of Pacifica Planning Department for more information.

The results of this community outreach will be evaluated and presented at the Library Advisory Committee on Wednesday, June 14th, at the Sanchez Pacifica Library. All Pacifica residents are encouraged to attend and will be welcomed to comment.
