City residents provided insight on the existing Sharp Park and Sanchez libraries at the recent community workshops hosted at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School on Tuesday May 23rd. Students at the middle school were given the first chance to see the list of potential Library sites identified by the Library Advisory Committee and make suggestions for other potential library sites around the City. Community members then visited an open house ahead of the evening’s community workshop where detailed discussions of the existing libraries' benefits and challenges were recorded, with clear direction on the types of spaces and activities the community would most like to see in the future. A further community event was held at the Pacifica Farmers Market in Rockaway Beach on Wednesday May 24th, where residents, undeterred by strong winds, engaged with Group 4 architects and City Staff to help imagine Pacifica libraries opportunities. Planning Department for more information.
The results of this community outreach will be evaluated and presented at the Library Advisory Committee on
Wednesday, June 14th, at the Sanchez Pacifica Library. All Pacifica residents are encouraged to attend and will be welcomed to comment.
