Darby Park's two baseball diamonds reopened this weekend with the dedication of the Dodgers Dreamfield.  The Dodgers through their RBI program have provided over $280,000 in grant funds to refurbish and renew baseball diamonds in Inglewood.  Special thanks to Adrian Gonzalez of the Dodgers who donated $12,000 to pay the league fees for all the little leaguers in the upcoming season.

Home prices are surging in LA's
priciest neighborhoods

Home Prices across Los Angeles are rapidly approaching pre-recession levels, with the median home price in LA County  rising to $549,000 last month, according to a recent report from CoreLogic.

But some neighborhoods are experiencing more explosive growth in home prices than others, and a new  heat map from The MLS shows that prices are surging in some of LA's most exclusive communities.

The map, which tracks recent single-family home sales recorded by the listing service, indicates that tony areas such as Brentwood, Beverly Hills, and Cheviot Hills have seen median sale prices rise significantly over the last year

INGLEWOOD'S FORCEFUL MAYOR WANTS PEOPLE TO FOLLOW HIS NFL LEAD

F or so many years, people did exactly what James T. Butts Jr. told them to do.
It works like that when you are a police chief and your officers must follow every command. But after Butts got elected mayor of Inglewood in 2011, he ran smack into a couple of City Council members who kept opposing him.

"The meetings were clown shows," he recalls. "When you're used to order and discipline ... it was tough to take."

So the mayor dipped into his campaign funds, lent tens of thousands to help a businessman and a former police buddy defeat the incumbents, and created a council in which, he says, "everyone is dialed in that there is one quarterback."

Los Angeles Super Bowl Pushed Back to 2022 Due Construction Delays at Inglewood Stadium

Call it the Super Bowl Reshuffle.

Five days after the Rams announced their Inglewood stadium would be finished in 2020, a year later than the original plan, the  NFL is looking at pushing back the Los Angeles Super Bowl by a year until February 2022.

Tampa will play host to the 2021 game.

Owners of the league's 32 teams gathered Tuesday for their annual one-day May meeting and decided to giving L.A. some breathing room rather than moving forward with the unprecedented plan of a stadium playing host to a Super Bowl in its inaugural season.
